EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing’s fall bulk leaf collection program has officially concluded for the year, with the exception of limited cleanup on the City’s west side.
The early snowfall during the week of Nov. 17 hindered bulk leaf collection on the west side (neighborhoods west of Abbot Road), limiting collections to the removal of large piles of leaves. The early snow prevented the use of equipment to perform a thorough cleanup, resulting in small piles of leaves left behind in the parkway and on the street.
City crews are revisiting these areas to collect the small amount of leaves that were left behind with street sweepers and blowers. The City will make every effort to complete this work on the west side before the onset of winter weather.
Community members’ patience is appreciated as the crews work to wrap up this important collection program.
