EAST LANSING, Mich. — A suspected arrested by the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) in connection to an East Lansing home invasion earlier this week has been arraigned and charged.
Craig Sims, a 17-year-old from Lansing, was charged with first degree home invasion in connection to the home invasion that occurred in the 400 block of Kedzie Street on Monday, March 28 at approximately 10:15 p.m.
After his arrest and subsequent investigations conducted by ELPD, Sims was also charged in connection to the following home invasions in East Lansing’s Cedar Village area:
- Second degree home invasion – 200 block of Cedar Street on March 4
- Second degree home invasion – 300 block of Bogue Street on March 10
- Second degree home invasion – 300 block of Village Drive on March 17
- Second degree home invasion – 1000 block of Waters Edge Drive on March 18
ELPD is also seeking additional charges for a home invasion that occurred on March 28 in the 300 block of Bogue Street just prior to Sims’ arrest for the Kedzie Street home invasion. Sims is still in custody at the Ingham County Jail.
A second suspect wanted in connection to the Kedzie Street home invasion and possibly others is still at large. Community members are reminded to keep all windows and doors locked and to call 911 if they see or hear anything suspicious around their home or in their neighborhood.
