EAST LANSING, Mich. – There are a number of construction projects scheduled to take place this spring and summer in the City of East Lansing.
Major Street Project on North Harrison Road
A major street project will be taking place on North Harrison Road, between Saginaw Street and Lake Lansing Road. The project is scheduled to begin June 13 and is slated for completion by Aug. 19. In order to expedite the work and meet the completion date, the road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project. Local traffic will be maintained to the extent possible; however, motorists are expected to seek alternate routes if they are able. The City and contractor will be working closely with those residents who have driveways off of Harrison Road. The signed detour will direct northbound Harrison Road traffic to take Saginaw Street east to Abbot Road and head north on Abbot Road to Lake Lansing Road. The detour will direct southbound Harrison Road traffic to take Lake Lansing Road east to Abbot Road and head south on Abbot Road to Saginaw Street.
Local Street Project in Chesterfield Hills
A local street project will be completed on the remaining streets in the Chesterfield Hills Neighborhood, including Highland Avenue, Oakridge Avenue and Westview Avenue. A water main improvement project will also take place on Glenmoor Drive, which will include some storm sewer work. Construction on the local streets is scheduled to begin June 1 and is slated for completion by Aug. 20. Local traffic will be maintained.
2016 Sidewalk Maintenance Program
Sidewalk maintenance will take place on a number of neighborhood streets in the City of East Lansing this spring/summer. Work is scheduled to begin June 1 and is slated for completion by Sept. 30. View map.
A 2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project will result in sidewalk ramp improvements on Park Lane, between Elizabeth Street and Linden Street. Work could begin as early as the week of May 16 and is slated for completion by Aug. 19.
