EAST LANSING, Mich. – The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) has recovered six of the 11 pieces of art stolen during last weekend’s East Lansing Art Festival.
ELPD is continuing its investigation and encourages anyone in possession of the remaining stolen art pieces to either return them to the ELPD police desk, 409 Park Lane, or leave them in a public place and call ELPD at (517) 319-6897 with the location. The individuals will not need to identify themselves.
Background
Three ELAF exhibiting artists reported that art had been stolen from their booths over the night of Saturday, May 21. The suspects entered the artists’ tents after the festival was over to steal pieces of their work. Two of the booths were located near the Abbot-Elizabeth intersection and one of the booths was located on M.A.C. Avenue near Grand River Avenue.
