[ARCHIVED] ELPD, DPW Respond to Storm Aftermath

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Extra East Lansing Department of Public Works crews and officers with the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) have been called in to assist with the aftermath of today’s storm.

Residents can report trees blocking the streets by calling the ELPD non-emergency phone number at (517) 351-4220, Opt. 1. Residents are asked to be patient with cleanup efforts; today’s priority will be opening streets and DPW’s cleanup may be hindered by downed power lines. DPW will begin curbside collection of storm debris from residents’ yards on Monday, July 11.

Residents should stay clear of any downed power lines and can report downed power lines by contacting their utility provider; BWL: 877-295-5001 and Consumers Energy: 1-800-477-5050. In an emergency, call 911.

Motorists are advised to treat all traffic signals that are out as four-way stops.

Please note that tonight’s East Lasing Summer Concert Series performance has been canceled due to a power outage in Ann Street Plaza.
