[ARCHIVED] East Lansing Sidewalk Construction Resumes This Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The City of East Lansing’s 2016 Sidewalk Maintenance Program will resume on Monday, July 18.

Construction will be taking place along the south side of Albert Avenue, between Abbot Road and Grove Street. During this phase of the construction, eastbound Albert Avenue, between Abbot Road and Grove Street, will be closed to traffic. A detour will be in place directing motorists north along Abbot Road to eastbound Burcham Drive and then south along M.A.C. Avenue to Albert Avenue. A second detour will be in place directing motorists south along Abbot Road to eastbound Grand River Avenue to northbound M.A.C. Avenue to Albert Avenue. Westbound Albert Avenue will remain open during the construction. Pedestrian detours will also be in place to direct foot traffic around the construction area. This phase of construction is expected to last approximately one week.

A Community Development Block Grant sidewalk construction project will also begin along Park Lane, between Linden Street and Beech Street, on Monday, July 18. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk ramp upgrades will take place in all intersections within the area noted.
