EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Financial Health Review Team unanimously approved its pension plan report at its July 20, 2016 meeting with a 9-0 vote. The report includes recommendations for addressing the City’s pension challenges.
The report will be forwarded to the East Lansing City Council for its review and consideration. Community members can view the report and learn more about the work of the East Lansing Financial Health Review Team at www.cityofeastlansing.com/FinancialHealthReviewTeam.
While the team has been charged with looking at a number of possible options to address the City’s financial challenges, Council asked that the first priority be the City’s legacy costs. The team will continue to meet in the months to come, with all final recommendations submitted to Council by December 2016.
