EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) has provided the following updates on ongoing construction projects in the City of East Lansing.
As part of the ongoing local street work on Glenmoor Road, a newly installed water main will be tied in at Grand River Avenue beginning the morning of Monday, Aug. 15. During the tie-in, the eastbound outside lane of Grand River Avenue will be closed east of Coolidge Road. This lane closure is expected to be in place for most of the week to accommodate pavement replacement after the tie-in of the water main is completed.
Additionally, Harrison Road sewer cleaning and televising, from Woodingham Drive south to Saginaw Street, will begin the night of Monday, Aug. 15. It is required that the work be completed during the night hours due to peak flow experienced during daytime hours. There will be some noise associated with the work, but it needs to be completed when flow is reduced and prior to students coming back to the area. This cleaning and televising will likely be completed in one night, but could extend into the evening of the Tuesday, Aug. 16 if it is not completed Monday night. Expected hours of operation are 8 p.m.-6 a.m. It is expected that the paving of Harrison Road, between Saginaw Street and Lake Lansing Road, will be completed either today, Aug. 12 or this weekend, depending on weather. The road will remain closed to traffic into next week for street striping and restoration work.
