EAST LANSING, Mich. – Applications are now available for funding under the City of East Lansing’s 2017-2018 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, 2017-2018 Human Services Grant Program and new 2017-2018 Mini Grant Program.
The City allocates grant funds on an annual basis to agencies providing direct services to residents living within East Lansing’s corporate boundaries. The City has a list of priority needs in the community. Agencies that provide these services to East Lansing residents are encouraged to apply for funding. Examples of services include respite childcare, legal services, youth services, homeless assistance and more.
For the Mini Grant Program, applicants will receive $2,000 in funds awarded for proposed project activities. For the Human Service Application, applicants will receive $10,000 in funds for proposed project activities. Total allocations are not pre-determined for the Community Development Block Grant program. Applicants are awarded amounts after review by the Community Development Advisory Committee and East Lansing City Council.
The City will offer a Grant Application Workshop on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 4 p.m. for new or returning agencies and organizations interested in applying for funding. The workshop will be held in Conference Room A of East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.
