EAST LANSING, Mich. – The opening of East Lansing’s pop-up ice skating rink will be delayed as additional time is needed for the ice to fully freeze.
The rink will be closed to the public tomorrow, Feb. 1 and community members are encouraged to visit www.downtownel.com for all additional updates. The website will be updated daily, notifying the community of whether the rink will be open or closed for the day
Background
East Lansing’s 52x72-foot pop-up ice skating rink will make its return to Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court, this February. It can accommodate approximately 30 skaters at one time. Daily operations of the rink are managed by staff members with the East Lansing Department of Planning, Building & Development.
The rink will be open to the general public throughout the month of February, weather permitting. Skate hours will be noon-9 p.m. Community members will need to bring their own skates to the rink. Additional information, including rink rules, is available at www.downtownel.com.
