EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Police Department is currently on scene at an apartment residence in the 1200 block of Deerpath Lane, where a deceased 24-year-old male was found earlier today, Dec. 22.
A resident of the apartment came home and discovered the deceased individual at approximately 1:30 p.m., at which time 911 was called and ELPD was dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, ELPD discovered that the deceased had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. There were no signs of forced entry.
At this time, ELPD does not believe the community is at risk. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
