[ARCHIVED] East Lansing City Clerk’s Office Open Saturday to Issue, Receive Absentee Voter Ballots

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing City Clerk’s office, 410 Abbot Road, will have special hours this Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to issue and receive absentee voter ballots for the May 2, 2017 Election.  

The last day to have an absentee voter ballot mailed is Saturday, April 29 and the last day a voter can apply for an absentee voter ballot and have it issued in person is Monday, May 1 by 4 p.m. All absentee voter ballots must be returned to the City Clerk’s office by 8 p.m. on Election Day. An absentee voter ballot application and additional election information can be found at www.cityofeastlansing.com/elections. Applications can also be requested at the City Clerk’s office. Community members can call the City Clerk’s office at (517) 319-6914 with questions.  

Absentee Voter Ballot Drop Box at East Lansing City Hall
An absentee voter ballot drop box is located in the north parking lot of East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road. The drop box provides residents with a convenient way to drop off absentee voter ballot applications and absentee voter ballots without having to exit their vehicles. The securely locked box is checked several times a day and is available 24/7.

Other Election Information & Reminders

  • A bonding proposal from the East Lansing School District will be on the ballot.
  • Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Election Day.
  • By law, every Michigan voter must present picture i.d. at the polls or sign an affidavit attesting that he/she is not in possession of a picture i.d. Learn more: http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1633_8716-178123--,00.html.
  • Registered voters can visit www.Michigan.gov/vote to find out where they vote and to view their sample ballot. Voters can also call 866-OURVOTE.
