EAST LANSING, Mich. — All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) will be hosting open auditions for the upcoming production of “Shrek the Musical Jr.” at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road, this June.
The auditions will take place at ELHCC on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m.-noon. Area youth, ages 6-18, interested in auditioning need only to attend one of the audition sessions. Callbacks will be held on Saturday, June 3 from 2-5 p.m.
Complimentary scripts can be checked out at the ELHCC front desk. A $10 deposit is required and the scripts need to be returned no later than one week prior to when the auditions begin.
There will also be an audition workshop on Wednesday, May 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at ELHCC. The audition workshop is a two-hour class that teaches youth what it’s like to audition for an AECT show. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Call ELHCC at (517) 333-2580 ext. 0 to sign up for the workshop; enrollment is limited. The workshop is not required to audition for the play.
