EAST LANSING, Mich. – The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) will be hosting a "Fill the SWAT Bus with Food" event this Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Patriarche Park (corner of Alton Road and Saginaw Street).
All donations will go to the help those served by the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The food bank's greatest needs are:
Beans (canned): kidney, navy, pinto, pork & beans, refried
Fish (canned): salmon, tuna
Fruit Juice 100% (canned and boxed)
Canned fruit or vegetables
Meals (boxed): Complete dinners, Helper & Pasta meals
Meats (canned): beef stew, chili, hash, SPAM
Vegetable Oil (bottled)
Pasta: macaroni, noodles (including Ramen), spaghetti
Peanut butter
Rice: instant and dinners
Potatoes: instant
Soup (canned and boxed)
Snack Items: fruit snacks, granola bars, Pop-Tarts
Tomato Products: canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste
Community members are encouraged to bring food donations to Patriarche Park for drop off this Saturday. ELPD’s SWAT vehicle will be staffed by volunteer police officers to accept community donations.
