EAST LANSING, Mich. – The current project approved by the East Lansing City Council for the Park District Planning Area will not be moving forward due to the fact that the current and former developers could not reach an agreement on the transfer of the Michigan Business Tax credit for the project.
Convexity Properties, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the City of East Lansing worked hard to resolve the issue, but unfortunately were unsuccessful.
While the project approved by the City Council earlier this year will not be moving forward, Convexity Properties has committed to demolishing the properties at 100-140 W. Grand River Ave. as originally planned. Demolition will begin on Saturday, Oct. 7. Throughout that weekend, motorists should keep an eye out for lane closures along Abbot Road and Grand River Avenue.
The City expects the current developers to submit plans for a revised project in the coming months.
