EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Park District Planning Area property, located at 100 W. Grand River Ave., is scheduled to be demolished this weekend, Oct. 7-8.
The demolition will cause some road closures and lane shifts within the area beginning the morning of Friday, Oct. 6. Avenue and the Michigan Avenue intersection, will be closed with a lane shift to the center lane.
Signs will be in place directing traffic and pedestrians. Motorists are asked to exercise caution in the area. All roads are expected to be re-opened to traffic by the morning of Monday, Oct. 9.
Pedestrian sidewalk access will be maintained on the east side of Abbot Road, between Albert Avenue and Grand River Avenue; and all downtown East Lansing businesses will be open and accessible.
Demolition debris will be removed over the next few weeks and the buildings at 134-140 W. Grand River Ave. will be demolished in late October or early November.
