[ARCHIVED] All of us Express Children’s Theatre to Host “Willy Wonka Jr.” Auditions

EAST LANSING, Mich. — All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) will be hosting open auditions for the upcoming musical production of Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka Jr.” at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road, this May.

The auditions will take place at ELHCC on Thursday, May 17 and Friday, May 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m.-noon. Area youth, ages 6-18, interested in auditioning will only need to attend one of the audition sessions. Callbacks will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 2-5 p.m.

Complimentary scripts can be checked out at the ELHCC front desk. A $10 deposit is required and the scripts need to be returned no later than one week prior to when the auditions begin.

There will also be an audition workshop on Wednesday, May 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at ELHCC. The audition workshop is a two-hour class that teaches youth what it’s like to audition for an AECT show. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Call ELHCC at (517) 333-2580 ext. 0 to sign up for the workshop; enrollment is limited. The workshop is not required to audition for the play.
