[ARCHIVED] Construction to Begin Next Monday, June 25 on N. Hagadorn Road

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing’s 2018 Major Street Project is scheduled to begin next Monday, June 25 on N. Hagadorn Road.

To accommodate the construction, there will be phased closures on N. Hagadorn Road, between Haslett Road and Lake Lansing Road. The first phase of the project will involve a closure between Haslett Road north to the westbound lanes of Saginaw Street. Eastbound and westbound Saginaw, as well as Haslett Road, will be open to through traffic only. All turn lanes will be closed while the scope of repairs is completed. Traffic should follow the posted detour in place to navigate around the construction. Upon completion of the first phase, the construction operation will move north between westbound Saginaw Street and Lake Lansing Road. Local access will be maintained; however, restrictions should be expected.

Once the N. Hagadorn Road portion of the 2018 Major Street Project is completed, construction will begin on Alton Road, from Burcham Drive to Saginaw Street. Additional details on the Alton Road construction will be provided closer to the construction start date.

More than 80 percent of the funding for these improvements is coming from the federal Surface Transportation Program (STP).
