EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are reminded that the registration deadline for the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts’ (ELPRA) inaugural 2018 Summer Adult 4v4 Soccer League is this Friday, June 29.
The Adult 4v4 Soccer League will include men, women and co-ed divisions. Advantages of this league include small-sided fields with 3’x 4’ goals, a smaller minimum of team players (four vs. 11) and only 20-minute games. Adult 4v4 Soccer is a great way to stay active on a team with friends even with a tight summer schedule.
“We are excited to try something new by introducing Adult 4v4 Soccer,” said ELPRA Director Tim McCaffrey. “These programs are highly successful in other larger metropolitan areas and we envision the same success in East Lansing. We have the facilities and a lot of interest in soccer throughout the community to really run this well.”
The summer league consists of a six-game season plus participation in a single elimination tournament at the end of the season. All adult league games will be played on lighted fields at the East Lansing Softball Complex, 6400 Abbot Road, on Tuesday and Thursday nights from mid-July to the end of August. The cost is $420 per team (that includes a roster of up to 10 players).
