EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Fire Department (ELFD) will be conducting FDC training on the north side of the Charles Street Parking Garage in downtown East Lansing on Wednesday, October 17 at 1:30 p.m. Due to the requirement of a water source, the ELFD will be accessing the fire hydrant adjacent to the garage, across Albert Avenue, near the corner of MAC Avenue.
The fire hydrant access will require that the northwest portion of the road near the intersection at Albert and MAC avenues be closed. Traffic will be unable to turn east onto Albert Avenue. Traffic coming from the west toward MAC will be able to travel only as far as the CVS parking lot. Traffic exiting the CVS parking lot will only be able to turn east out of the lot.
The closure will start at 1:30 p.m. and is expected to take approximately 25 minutes. There will be police units on the scene for traffic control.
