EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Fire Department (ELFD) will be conducting Fire Department Connection (FDC) training on the north side of the Charles Street Parking Garage in downtown East Lansing on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Due to the requirement of a water source, ELFD will be accessing the fire hydrant adjacent to the garage, across Albert Avenue, near the corner of MAC Avenue.
The fire hydrant access will require that the northwest portion of the road near the Albert-M.A.C. intersection to be temporarily closed. During the closure, traffic will be unable to turn east onto Albert Avenue and traffic coming from the west toward M.A.C. Avenue will only be able to travel as far as the CVS Parking Garage. Traffic exiting the CVS Parking Garage will only be able to turn east.
The closure will start at 1:30 p.m. and is expected to take approximately 25 minutes. There will be police units on scene for traffic control.
