[ARCHIVED] All of us Express Children’s Theatre to Host “The Wizard of Oz” Auditions for Adults and Youth

EAST LANSING, Mich. — All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) will be hosting open auditions for the upcoming musical production of L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz” at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road, in December. This production is a collaboration between AECT and Riverwalk Theatre.

The auditions will take place at ELHCC on Thursday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This is the first time an AECT production will feature adult and youth actors. Area youth (age 9 and older) and adults interested in auditioning will only need to attend one of the audition sessions.

Complimentary scripts can be checked out at the ELHCC front desk. A $10 deposit is required and the scripts need to be returned no later than one week prior to when the auditions begin.

There will also be an audition workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at ELHCC. The audition workshop is a two-hour class for those interested in learning more about the audition process and sharpening their skills. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Call ELHCC at (517) 333-2580 ext. 0 to sign up for the workshop; enrollment is limited. The workshop is not required to audition for the play.

AECT brings four major productions to the Greater Lansing community each year with the help of hundreds of youth from throughout the region.
