EAST LANSING, Mich. — According to the National Weather Service, a wintry mix and possible ice accumulation is in the forecast for southern and mid-Michigan tonight and into Wednesday morning.
This weather event is expected to begin at 10 p.m. tonight and end by 1 p.m. on Wednesday, with the heaviest precipitation occurring between midnight and 8 a.m. Ice accumulation could be up to 0.5 inches in some areas, which may result in localized power outages. Community members are encouraged to monitor the weather conditions and use caution when traveling to work tomorrow. Community members are also advised to stay clear of any downed power lines and to call their utility company to report downed power lines and/or outages. East Lansing Department of Public Works crews will be mobilized for this weather event as road conditions are expected to be slick. City officials are continuously monitoring the weather forecasts/conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
