[ARCHIVED] City of East Lansing Officials and Staff to Participate in 29th Annual Walk for Warmth

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A group of City of East Lansing officials and staff are proud to be participating in the Capital Area Community Services (CACS) 29th Annual Walk for Warmth on Saturday, February 23.

Those participating include East Lansing Mayor Mark Meadows and his wife, East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas and his family, East Lansing Police Chief Larry Sparkes, East Lansing Deputy Police Chief Steve Gonzalez and Assistant to City Council Emily Gordon.

Walk for Warmth is a three-mile walk that raises public awareness and funds for individuals and families struggling to pay their heating bills. One hundred percent of all funds go towards helping residents in the community who are at risk of having their heat shut off.

Interested community members are encouraged to join City officials and staff at this great event for a great cause. The walk will be held at CACS Pine Street Head Start at the Neighborhood Empowerment Center, 600 W. Maple Street, Lansing, with registration at 9 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9:30 a.m. Learn more and donate to the cause here: https://cacs-inc.org/walk-for-warmth
