EAST LANSING, Mich. — A second public input meeting will be hosted this Thursday, March 7 to provide the community with an additional opportunity to share input that will assist the City of East Lansing in updating its Five-Year Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Greenways Plan.
The meeting will take place at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, at 6:30 p.m. and all community members are welcome to attend.
The updated Five-Year Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Greenways Plan will be adopted in 2020 and will serve as an important document that will help guide the future direction of the City’s parks and recreation system for five years and beyond. The current, 2015 plan can be viewed here: https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/DocumentCenter/View/2678/2015-Park-Recreation-Open-Space-and-Greenways-Plan-PDF?bidId.
In addition to the public input meetings, community members had the opportunity to share input via an online survey earlier this year.
“Community participation in this process is extremely important to us and will help us in developing an updated plan that is supported by the community members we serve,” said East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Art Director Tim McCaffrey.
