EAST LANSING, Mich. — East Lansing, Mich. Mayor Mark Meadows and Lubbock, Texas Mayor Dan Pope have made a friendly wager over this Saturday’s NCAA Final Four game between Michigan State University and Texas Tech.
The defeated team’s hometown will fly the winning team’s flag outside of their city hall building for one day and provide photo confirmation. The flag will be supplied by the winning team.
When the flag comes down, it will be signed by the defeated team’s mayor with a congratulatory message and mailed back to the winning team’s mayor.
The Spartans will face off against the Raiders on Saturday, April 6 in Minneapolis, Minn.; with a tip off at approximately 8:50 p.m. Go Green!
