EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Public Library’s (ELPL) “A Universe of Stories” 2019 Summer Reading Challenge will kick-off on Monday, June 17 and run through Saturday, Aug. 10.
The summer reading challenge is for all ages, offering something for everyone. Each participant will log their reading time, complete an activity or complete a challenge to win prizes, such as event tickets, food certificates and more.
“Students who read six books at their current reading level through the summer months prevent ‘summer slide’ and maintain their reading readiness for when school starts in the fall,” said ELPL Assistant Director Brice Bush. "We are excited to offer this program to everyone, including our adult readers, and we look forward to launching at our Kick-off Dance Party."
