EAST LANSING, Mich. — M.A.C. Avenue, from Grand River Avenue to Albert Avenue, will be closed to traffic July 10-19 for street resurfacing as a part of the City of East Lansing’s 2019 Local Streets Project.
Eastbound Grand River Avenue traffic will be able to access downtown East Lansing via Charles Street and westbound Grand River Avenue traffic will be able access the downtown via Abbot Road or Charles Street. Pedestrian access to businesses along M.A.C. Avenue will be maintained at all times and the first 30 minutes of parking in all gated lots/garages is free in July. When the paving of M.A.C. Avenue is complete, work will move to the following local streets, which will be resurfaced from approximately July 22-Aug. 30 in the following order:
- Hitching Post Road, from Saginaw Highway to Old Mill Road
- Old Mill Road, from Walbridge Drive to Pebblebrook Lane
- East Lansing Drive, from Merritt Road to Merritt Road
In addition to this work, the City’s 2019 Water Main Replacement Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 8. This project will consist of replacing the existing water main on Evergreen Avenue, from Oakhill Avenue to the East Lansing Hannah Community Center; Cornell Avenue, from Beech Street to Burcham Drive; and Durand Street, from Ann Street to Snyder Road (in that order).
