EAST LANSING, Mich. — In celebration of National Park and Recreation month this July, the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts (ELPRA) will be hosting an open house at the East Lansing Farmers Market (ELFM) on Sunday, July 14 from 10 a.m.-2p.m. in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court.
The open house will feature nine booths, where community members can learn about the classes, programs, events and additional offerings of ELPRA. Community members will also have the opportunity to participate in a fitness class and family activities, register for classes, sign up for the ELPRA e-newsletter and more.
The open house will include the following ELPRA booths: the Before & After School Child Care program, All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre, Recreation & Arts, Zombie Survival, Aquatics & Athletics, the East Lansing Environmental Stewardship, the East Lansing Hannah Community Center & Community Events, wheel throwing and a POP UP Pilates fitness class (noon-12:45 p.m.). Activities at the booths will include everything from a lifeguard selfie station and CPR demonstration to giveaway opportunities, take-home seeds for planting, lawn games, a special appearance from Mary Poppins, zombie survival target practice, take-home fliers and more.
