ELPD Responds to Threatening Statement Found at ELHS

EAST LANSING, Mich. — At approximately 10:30 a.m., today, Sept. 13, the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) responded to a threatening statement found written on a wall at East Lansing High School.

The ELPD School Resource Officer coordinated responding officers and detectives in an effort to ensure student and staff safety. In consultation with East Lansing Public Schools staff, they determined to put an external lockdown in place while an investigation was conducted. This means access in and out of the building will be tightly controlled.

There is no current active threat at the school. Officers and detectives remain on the scene while an investigation is conducted.
