[ARCHIVED] Community Members have Until Sept. 30 to Purchase Patriarche Park Brick Pavers

EAST LANSING, Mich. — To celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Playground in the Park “Re-Imagined” project, the City of East Lansing is giving community members a second chance to purchase personalized, engraved brick pavers that will be installed at the entryway of Patriarche Park’s playground. The deadline to submit an order form and payment is Monday, Sept. 30.

Community members have the option of purchasing a 4” x 8” brick paver for $100 (three lines of text, 14 characters per line) or an 8” x 8” brick paver for $150 (four lines of text, 14 characters per line), which will be installed at the park by Oct. 31. A total of 40 brick pavers must be sold to make this project a success. To purchase a brick paver, online and printable order forms are available at https://cityofeastlansing.com/2024/Playground-in-the-Park-Re-Imagined, or community members can contact Jane Stone at (517) 319-6809 or jstone@cityofeastlansing.com.

About the Project
In 2014, the City and East Lansing Rotary Club partnered on the Playground in the Park “Re-Imagined” project. The idea behind the project was to bring a new playground to the park designed by the community, built by the community and with funds raised by the community. In addition to involving the community in the project’s design phase, community members were invited to help build the new playground. The project was funded in part by a $300,000 Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant as well as several generous sponsorships and community contributions. The 1.2-acre playground features a wide variety of colorful play equipment, a poured-in-place surface, a rain garden, a brick entry plaza, walkways and more.
