Moonlight Film Festival to Feature "Big Miracle"

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing will continue its popular Moonlight Film Festival with “Big Miracle” (PG) on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 9 p.m. in downtown East Lansing’s Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court.

This FREE outdoor film series presents movies on a big screen and live music beginning one hour prior to the movie. Bring a blanket, sleeping bag or lawn chair and enjoy a night under the stars. The event will be canceled if it rains. All canceled events will be posted on the website prior to 5 p.m.

LIVE MUSIC: Groove Merchants, 8 p.m.

FILM: “Big Miracle” (PG), 9 p.m.
In small town Alaska, a news reporter recruits his ex-girlfriend - a Greenpeace volunteer - on a campaign to save a family of gray whales trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle. This 2012 family film stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski.

UPCOMING FILMS: "Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted" (PG) on Aug. 8, "Hugo" (PG) on Aug. 15 and “The Karate Kid” (1984 version) (PG) on Aug. 22.
